A porch wall light should feel proportional to the door, trim, house numbers, and nearby hardware.
For one fixture, place it where it can light the entry without blocking the door swing. For paired lights, keep both sides visually balanced.

Warm light usually feels more welcoming at the front entry. Avoid harsh glare near eye level, especially beside glass doors.
